In anticipation of the farmer's planned 'Delhi Chalo' march on February 13, Section 144 has been imposed across Delhi, according to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora. The move comes as a preventive measure ahead of scheduled talks on Monday between a delegation of farmer leaders and a team of three Union ministers. As tractor-trolleys convoys set out from various parts of Punjab to join the march, Haryana authorities have fortified the state's border with Punjab, utilizing concrete blocks, iron nails, and barbed wire in places like Ambala, Jind, Fatehabad, and Kurukshetra to impede the farmers' movement.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, representing over 200 farm unions, have announced their intent to press the Centre for various demands, including a legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP) for crops. Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Arjun Munda, and Nityanand Rai are set to hold a second round of talks with the farmer leaders in Chandigarh, discussing their demands, including MSP, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations, pensions, farm debt waiver, withdrawal of police cases, and justice for victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
